Acceptable Use Policy

What Gridkind is

Gridkind sells prepaid digital products directly to consumers: retailer food vouchers, mobile airtime and data, and vouchers redeemable at merchants under contract with us. Gridkind is the seller in every transaction.

Gridkind is not a marketplace, a payment service, a money transfer service, or a store of value. There are no seller accounts, no user wallets, and no facility to hold or transfer money between users.

Prohibited goods and services

Gridkind may not be used to purchase, fund, gift, or facilitate access to:

• anything illegal under South African law, or unlawful in the recipient's country
• weapons, ammunition, explosives, or their components
• controlled substances, narcotics, precursor chemicals, or drug paraphernalia
• tobacco, nicotine products, or alcohol
• adult or sexually explicit material or services
• gambling, betting, lotteries, or games of chance
• virtual currencies, crypto assets, or digital tokens of any kind
• unlicensed financial services, credit, insurance, or investment products
• counterfeit, stolen, or infringing goods
• prescription medicines or medical devices
• material promoting hatred, violence, terrorism, or discrimination
• human trafficking, exploitation, or forced labour in any form

Prohibited conduct

Users may not:

• use Gridkind to move value between people, to settle debts, or as a substitute for a bank transfer or remittance
• resell, trade, or exchange vouchers for cash or crypto assets
• offer goods or services for sale to other Gridkind users
• use another person's payment instrument, or transact with the proceeds of crime
• structure purchases to evade transaction limits or identity verification
• create multiple accounts, impersonate another person, or supply false identity or contact details
• claim a chargeback on a product that was delivered
• interfere with, probe, or attempt unauthorised access to the service, its data, or its infrastructure
• automate or bulk-generate transactions without our written agreement
• send abusive, harassing, or unsolicited messages through the service

Merchants under contract

Merchants who accept Gridkind vouchers are our suppliers under a supply agreement. They do not sell to users through the platform and do not receive customer payments. A contracted merchant may not redeem a voucher without supplying the goods, exchange a voucher for cash, apply a surcharge for voucher redemption, or redeem vouchers on their own account.

Verification

Every user is verified by mobile number. Identity verification is required before defined transaction thresholds are exceeded. We may request further information at any time and may hold or decline a transaction until we receive it.

Communications

Where we send you messages promoting our products, you may tell us at any time to stop, at no cost to you, and we will. Reply STOP on WhatsApp or email support@gridkind.co. This is your right under section 11 of the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 and section 69 of the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013. Messages confirming a purchase, delivering a voucher, or answering a query are service messages and are not affected.

Enforcement and reporting

We monitor for breach of this policy and act on it. Depending on severity we may decline a transaction, void an unredeemed voucher and refund the payer, suspend access, close an account, or report the matter to the South African Police Service, the Financial Intelligence Centre, or another competent authority.

Changes

We may update this policy. The version published at gridkind.co/acceptable-use is the current one; the effective date above shows when it last changed.
